A friend sent me this picture and reminded me of the thing I wait for in Spring. For my wife it is the sight of the first robin. For me it is the green pod that erupts into brilliant color. It says to me that no matter how hard life has been, no matter how ugly life can be, there is life that is waiting to explode, given the chance.
The gift to me of the tulip is the reminder that there is hope and life, even when it doesn't feel that way.
